How Our Network Works: Who You Talk To

A provider safely taking down a large tree behind a stucco home in Los Gatos

Who you talk to

You talk to an independent tree provider. That is a local business that cuts, hauls, and grinds. Cellstouched Tree Service only makes the introduction.

There are no staff profiles here, because the people doing your job work for the provider, not for us. Ask the provider who will be on site.

What happens on the call

Expect a short, plain talk. The provider will ask a few things:

  • Where the tree is and how big it looks
  • What is near it, such as a roof, fence, or power line
  • Why it needs to come down
  • Whether you also want the stump ground

Photos help. Many providers can give a rough idea over the phone. For a firm price, they usually need to see the tree. That is normal.

What to ask a provider

First-timer? Use this list.

  • Is the quote in writing? Get the price, the scope, and the date.
  • Does the price include cleanup? Some quotes leave out hauling.
  • Is the stump included? Stump grinding is often a separate line.
  • How will the tree come down? Ask if they cut in sections or use a crane.
  • Do you carry insurance? Ask for proof.
  • Do you need a permit? Some cities require one for certain trees.

Skip any provider who will not answer these. Ask before you hire.

Compare, then decide

Two quotes can look far apart. Read what each one covers. A lower number may leave out cleanup. A higher number may cover everything. Line them up side by side.

Need it done after a storm? Many providers offer emergency tree removal for fallen or hanging trees. Availability varies, so ask.

You are in control

You can say no. You can ask for more time. You can talk to a second provider. Nobody here will push you.

A good provider will explain the job and let you choose.
